3D Design Tools

While there are many 3D Design tools on the market, the best to utilize are those that are open source (read: free)!

JMOL

Jmol is an open-source Java viewer for chemical structures in 3D, that does not require 3D acceleration plugins. Jmol returns a 3D representation of a molecule that may be used as a teaching tool, or for research e.g. in chemistry and biochemistry.

Cleaner Graphics

Creating cleaner graphics produces a more expressive 3D Model.

PyMol

PyMOL is an open-source, user-sponsored, molecular visualization system created by Warren Lyford DeLano and commercialized initially by DeLano Scientific LLC, which was a private software company dedicated to creating useful tools that become universally accessible to scientific and educational communities.

Tablet Ready

PyMOL does not use Java and will run easily on your tablet.
