Students will work in Learning Teams (consisting of 2 or 3 Students) and as a team, will utilize various software tools for authentic learning and industry relevant experiences. In order to get the most of this experience, MODEL3D for Biology is designed to provide a roadmap for students to develop a biological model of their choosing and engage in their own research to learn more about their chosen topic.

These models will extend your understanding from printed images, 3D images and animated images to ones you can touch and feel (a didactic experience). Utilizing this research, students will prepare a presentation and a scientific paper (in journal form) that describes what they have discovered and learned about their project. The scientific paper should include graphics and other visual information that will allow the reader to understand your project and confirm your effort by holding, touching and closely examining your physically printed 3D model.
